Kingsbarns may be a relative youngster amongst its more venerable neighbours in St Andrews but the course, which celebrates its 10th birthday in July 2010, has made its mark on the golf world. When the course opened, it could scarcely have been predicted that it would so quickly become one of the world’s best known and most popular links courses and one of the host courses to the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Kyle Phillips created not only a true links golf challenge but also a course set in scenery that takes your breath away.
The mix of the two made Kingsbarns an instant hit with golfers from all over the world. As the course matured it received many prestigious accolades from the golf media. It was ranked No. 61 in Top 100 Courses in the World by Golf Magazine as well as No. 1 in Europe in the 50 Greatest Courses of the Last 50 Years by the same publication. A challenging links experience awaits golfers as the course`s spacious fairways roll and twist over dune ridges and hollows through Scottish heather and wispy rough along 1.5 miles of scenic coastline near St. Andrews.
