Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa: Red Course

One of three championship golf courses located at Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa only 25 minutes west of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Yes, traditional golf does exist in the valley. This course (formerly the Heritage Course) was created Red Lawrence who is also responsible for Arizona's first desert golf course design too. His work is a compliment to the other two courses on-site (Blue and Gold) set among a forest of pines and eucalyptus trees. You will also pass some of the finest estates that this up-scale neighbourhood has to offer.

Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa: Gold Course

One of three championship golf courses on-site at Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa, 25 minutes east of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., this monster at over 7200 yards is always ranked among the best resort courses in Arizona. It offers nearly twice the acreage as most desert designs built today and features elevated greens, narrow landing areas, elongated tee boxes, well-placed bunkers and water hazards. It's the toughest of the 3 courses at Wigwam Resort & Spa but from the front tees is playable for all skill levels.

Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa: Blue Course

One of three championship golf courses located on-site at the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa, 25 minutes west of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Like its sister course the Gold, the Blue Course is also a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design and it too opened for play in 1965. Both courses feature Trent Jones’ signature small, elevated greens, however, that’s where the similarities end. The Blue Course is a shorter course – more than 1,400 yards shorter from the tips – and therefore isn’t quite as demanding off the tee. Shorter hitters and golfers who excel at short and mid-iron play, really enjoy the challenge Trent Jones, Sr. laid out. During the summer of 2016, The Blue Course underwent an extensive bunker and irrigation system renovation. Lead by Nevada-based golf course renovation firm Key Golf, in collaboration with The Wigwam’s ownership group JDM Partners, the renovation work focused on removing bunkers, modernizing and reshaping the remaining bunkers and updating the irrigation system on the 50-year-old golf course. During the renovation process, 35 bunkers were eliminated while the 34 remaining bunkers were reshaped. Bunkers now have a splash-up, flat-top design and are filled with white sand. In addition to the bunker renovation, the course’s irrigation system was also revamped.
