2008 PGA TOUR Q-SCHOOL REPORT

2nd Stage

After 36 holes, VGT Member Bryn Parry sits T3rd after a blistering 66 at the Lantana Golf Club in Texas.  After opening the tournament with a 75 (+3), Parry sat T55th and was in need of a very solid three rounds of golf to get himself back inside the cut line (top 20 plus ties).  Parry’s round of 66 consisted of 7 birdies and an eagle and was the low round of the day by an impressive 3 shots as only 6 players shot under par out of a 78 player field.  With winds swirling at 30-40 km/hr and greens getting rock hard, iron shots were tough to judge and bounces hard to predict.  Ontario’s Derek Gillespie sits in a T11th after rounds of 74, 70 while Alberta’s Wes Heffernan struggled in day 2, moving him to a T52nd after rounds of 73,78.

At the Beaumont, California site, Vernon’s Chris Baryla battled back today with a great round of 67 (-5), moving him into a T11th after rounds of 71, 67.  Ontario’s Kent Eger fired an equally great round of 67, vaulting him into a T7th with rounds of 70, 67.  Victoria’s Jim Rutledge (71, 69) and Vancouver’s Richard Lee (67, 73) both sit in a T18th after 36 holes.

The top 20 plus ties from both Lantana, Texas and Beaumont, California will advance to Final Stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School.  Third and Fourth rounds of the 2nd Stage Qualifying undergo Friday and Saturday, Nov.21-22nd.  All Results can be found by clicking on the following link: http://www.pgatour.com/qschool/.
