Achieved a hole-in-ones on 2009-01-15 @ CLEARWATER GOLF PARK located in Clearwater, FL, United States

    Hole: 7 | Length: 161 | Club Used: 3-Iron

I, Gerry Bedard of St. Bruno Quebec Canada lost my left arm just below the elbow back in the late 70's due to a mining accident.

Always a true sports fan I continued to skate, hit a softball, bowl, play tennis, play catch etc... While not being able to lace my skates I had to get assistance from others. With the advent of "Velcro" I was now able to purchase skates and shoes that would allow me some sense of independence. From time to time I was known to take a swipe at a golf ball. I never really got heavily involved in any particular sport but was definitely a true sports enthusiast, especially as a fanatic of the Montreal Canadiens.

As a golfer I was resigned to the fact that I always made a better designated cart driver than a golfer, when I accompanied friends and family on golf outings.
I would take a swing from time to time then return to my cart driving duties.

On Thursday January 15 2009 I accompanied my brother Marcel Bedard and Marcel's brother-in-law Roger Pigeau to a golf outing at Clearwater Executive Golf Club in Clearwater Florida. This was to be my first ever full 18 hole game of golf. In view of the fact that I did not want to invest in a new pair of golf shoes with "Velcro", I played my first game with my velcro fitted dress shoes! When we had approached the 161 yard seventh hole I decided to use my number three hybrid and went about my pre shot routine, then with my one arm swing, I struck the ball beautifully and watched as the ball sailed towards the green landing softly then rolling out towards the hole to finally rest at the bottom of the cup!!

This amazing feat was witnessed by the local green's keeper and of course my playing partners.

P.S. My final score for the day was 98!! Now that's what i call "a one armed bandit" for many a golfer would love to be able to break 100, so i'm told.
